Is anyone really surprised that the older we get, the more likely it is we’ll lose our hearing? Not this aging writer. It’s simply one negative side effect of living a long, fulfilling life (along with the many good ones like wisdom, experience, and patience).
That doesn’t lessen the surprise of today’s Hearing Fact by the World Health Organization. Five times more? That’s a lot!
On one hand, it’s telling us that we will all be living longer — which is good. But on the other, there is going to be way too many of us asking “What?” if we don’t get help for our hearing loss.
